Moving Image Task

Standard Definition is a television system which is not considered to be either high resolution or enhanced-definition television; WVGA (848x480)
High Definition is a high degree of detail in an image or screen; 1080p (1920x1080)
Four K is labelled 4K because a 4K TV carries almost 4K pixels; it actually carries 3840 pixels but they obviously rounded up to 4K.

There are many limitations for resolution such as:
·         File Size
·         The Camera For Filming
·         The Software For Editing
·         The Display Technology

People do not generally film everything in 4K because the file size compared to 1080p is huge, 4K cameras are generally expensive, some software do not accept 4K resolution when editing and to actually view 4K you would need a 4K monitor or TV, which do not come cheap.

Pretty and fancy but expensive.

.MP4

Pros:
·         Suitable for video streaming over the internet.
·         Less loss of quality with higher degree of compression.
·         These files can pretty much run on every major media player.

Cons:
·         The only disadvantage is they are not easy to edit or update.

.MOV

Pros:
·         MOV is a convenient file type because it can hold different media elements, including video and audio, all in one compact place.
·         It stores data so you can easily edit the file, without the hassle of rewriting.

Cons:
·         These files will only work on QuickTime Media Player, which is an Apple software…
·         The file types are larger than .mp4 files.

.AVI

Pros:

Many codecs currently available can be used to achieve desired compression ratio of AVI format.
AVI file format has exceptionally high quality audio fidelity.
AVI file format do not require any particular hardware device of software application for the file to run.
·         AVI file format is the most widely used video format for promos, short movies and advertisements owing to its compression capabilities.

Cons:
·         If AVI files are compressed using some codecs then in order to retrieve and play the file it requires the same codec to be installed on the PC.
·         AVI files if uncompressed can be very large as compared to the other file formats.
·         AVI files if compressed beyond certain limits result in the loss of video quality.
·

      .FLV

Pros:
·         Flash is installed on near enough of computer out there.
·         Flash provides access to interactive content and other advanced features.

Cons:
·         Flash has to be up-to-date otherwise; the video will not be playable.
·         Flash files do not directly have a file set to view FLVs as default.
The Handycams gave me AVCHD files; These MTS files contain high-definition MPEG transport stream videos that have been captured by certain video camcorders.
DSLRs output .MOV files,.
